Another year begins, and with it some hope is given by at least a couple of developments at the end of the old year.
One of the developments involves the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban, who in late November, 2019 stated the “Hungarian people and their government believe that Christian virtues provide peace and happiness to those who practise them.” He said that each state agency was required by Hungary’s fundamental law to protect Hungary’s constitutional identity and Christian culture. These remarks were made during the opening of the international conference on persecuted Christians. Europe “can only be saved if it `returns to the source of its real values: its Christian identity'” and “we Christians have the right to protect our culture and way of life.” (from “Europe Can Only be Saved by Returning to Christianity,” Hungary Journal, November 26, 2019 as retrieved December 18, 2019.)
