(On July 10, 2021, I presented the David Wemhoff Scholarship to a deserving art student at the South Bend Museum of Art. This is the text of my talk, brief as it is.)
Text On Presentation of David Wemhoff Scholarship
Hello and good afternoon everyone.
I wish to extend a hearty thanks to the Art League, the South Bend Museum of Art and everyone else who made possible today.
I am honored and humbled to have a scholarship named after me.

(Nearly 14 years ago I helped to bring out a book entitled “Redeeming A Father’s Heart” which dealt with men’s loss to abortion. This article proceeds from a discussion of that work.)
We have all had something sudden and unexpected happen to us. All of us have experienced something bad. For some of us, that could be a car accident, or being fired from a job, or getting sick. One thing that is common in all of these situations is that at some point we ask the question: How did this happen?
